Arbor Day Farm Trail

Nebraska City, NE

Big Muddy Workshop updated the Arbor Day Farm’s master plan and expanded it to include a well-defined system of trails, allowing visitors to fully explore the 260-acre Farm.

The trail system provides visitors with a series of interconnected trails that serve the Farm’s agricultural and natural areas. Learning opportunities range from stream ecology and local geology to agroforestry production, orchards, oak savanna restoration sites, arboreta, and conservation and demonstration plantings. Trails connect Arbor Lodge, Lied Lodge, and the Historic Barns and Apple House. A multi-level deck and stair system crosses one of the Farm’s forested ravines and 175-foot- long wooden bridge spans the deep stream valley of South Table Creek.
