Hitchcock Park is a community park serving South Omaha’s established neighborhoods. The park’s sweeping open spaces are punctuated by groves of mature shade trees. Its picturesque lagoon is highly visible from the two adjacent streets. Big Muddy developed the park’s master plan and redesign.
The redeveloped park includes a lagoon with a spray fountain, playground, and picnic shelter, which serves as the park’s focal point. A trail encircling the restored lagoon encourages park visitors to take a stroll and leads to accessible fishing locations. On evenings and weekends, it is packed with families playing, picnicking, and fishing.
